Behentrimonium Chloride is a quaternary ammonium compound (cationic surfactant) derived from behenic acid (C22 fatty acid), typically sourced from vegetable oils like rapeseed.
It is widely used in hair care as a conditioning agent, detangler, and antistatic agent. Due to its strong positive charge, it binds effectively to negatively charged hair strands, improving smoothness and manageability.
It appears as a white to off-white waxy flakes, pellets, or pastilles.
