Propanediol 1,3

Propanediol, also known as 1,3-propanediol, is a naturally derived glycol used in various cosmetic, personal care, and pharmaceutical products. It is a colorless, odorless liquid that functions as a humectant, solvent, and stabilizer. Propanediol is often chosen as a safer, more sustainable alternative to propylene glycol in formulations, especially due to its naturally sourced origins from corn or other plant-based materials. It is recognized for its ability to hydrate the skin, enhance product stability, and improve the texture of cosmetic formulations.

BENEFITS OF PROPANEDIOL

1. Moisturizing: Acts as a humectant that helps draw moisture into the skin, keeping it hydrated and soft.
2. Solvent: Effectively dissolves active ingredients and helps mix oil- and water-soluble compounds.
3. Improves Product Texture: Contributes to a smooth, non-greasy texture in formulations, improving the feel of creams, lotions, and serums.
4. Enhances Penetration: Improves the absorption and delivery of active ingredients into the skin.
5. Skin Conditioning: Known for its ability to help soothe and condition the skin, making it suitable for sensitive skin types.
6. Sustainable: A bio-based ingredient, often derived from renewable plant sources, making it eco-friendlier alternative to petrochemical-based ingredients.
