It serves as Emollient ( i.e Makes skin feel soft and smooth),Thickener (i.e it gives products a richer, creamier texture), and Spreading Agent (i.e Helps products apply more evenly and feel less greasy). It Acts as a rich, long-lasting emollient, gives a smooth, silky feel to formulations, improves spread ability and texture, helps in film formation, enhances moisturization without greasiness, excellent binding agent for color cosmetics like lipsticks and foundations.
