Isododecane is a clear, colorless liquid hydrocarbon commonly used in cosmetics and personal care products. Chemically, it belongs to a group called alkanes and is derived from petroleum. It is lightweight, non-greasy emollient, provides silky, smooth, dry-touch feel, enhances spreadability, fast-evaporating, ideal for long-wear and quick-dry formulas, improves pigment dispersion, reduces tackiness in film-formers, leaves no residue or oily film and helps prevent moisture loss by forming a barrier on the skin.
