Calcium hydroxide 95%, also known as slaked lime or hydrated lime, is a white, odorless powder with the chemical formula Ca(OH)₂. It has a strong alkaline nature (high pH) and limited solubility in water. Calcium hydroxide is primarily used to stabilize pH in cosmetic formulations—protecting delicate active ingredients, supporting preservative efficacy, and maintaining texture and comfort. Calcium hydroxide is primarily used to maintain or adjust the pH of skincare and haircare formulations. It helps protect sensitive actives, ensures preservatives work effectively, and maintains texture and feel.

A 95% purity grade is commonly available for technical and industrial applications.
