Beta-Arbutin is a naturally occurring derivative of hydroquinone, found in plants like bearberry, blueberry, and cranberry. It is a glycosylated form of hydroquinone and is widely used in the cosmetic and skincare industry due to its skin-brightening and pigmentation-reducing properties. Beta-Arbutin inhibits the enzyme tyrosinase, which is involved in melanin production, thus reducing the appearance of hyperpigmentation and dark spots.
